Rexik

“Rexik” is our own series of tales about a little orange T. rex who is careful, a bit shy and good at noticing what others miss. His best friend is Trika, a lilac triceratops: she does first and thinks later, and she kindly teases him as Mister Maybe-Not. They live in Fern Valley at the end of the Cretaceous, surrounded only by animals that really lived at the same time as the T. rex, and every tale contains a true fact about dinosaurs.

Beside them are his gentle mom, who always finds out first because “Mom’s ears hear everything”, and his huge dad, who sings off-key and tells tall tales that begin “When I was your size…”. There are also stern Uncle Horn and cheerful Aunt Frilla, Granny Anki the ankylosaur with a flower on her armour, and chatty Quetza the postwoman, who reminds everyone that she is a flying reptile, not a dinosaur. Every tale ends in the evening: Rexik puts a “treasure of the day” from today’s adventure on his shelf. And in every picture of the series a tiny blue beetle with a red berry is hiding, which is fun to look for together with your child.

The tales can be read on their own, but they are best in order: “Rexik and Trika”, “Rexik, Trika and the Big Rain”, “Rexik and Quetza the Postwoman”, “Rexik, Trika and the Longest Neck”, “Rexik, Trika and the Mystery of the Giant Footprints”, “Rexik and the Lost Egg”, “Rexik, Trika and the Dads' Contest”, “Rexik and the Bully Pachycephalosaurus” and “Rexik, Trika and the Meteor Shower”. That way you can see Rexik make new friends as his shelf of treasures grows from tale to tale.
